Tafsir al-Qur'an al-'Aziz by Ibn Abi Zamanin
Volume 3 · Page 64334

Translation · EN

"And for every nation," (meaning: for every people), "We have appointed a rite of sacrifice." Qatada said: This means a pilgrimage and a slaughter. "And give good tidings to the humble," meaning: the submissive and reverent ones.

Muhammad (Ibn Abi Zamanin) said: The derivation of this word is from "al-khabt," which is the low-lying place of the earth.
