The interpretation of al-Hasan: He said, 'He spoke to some of them, took some of them as a close friend (khalil), and gave some of them the revival of the dead.' "And to David We gave the Zabur (Psalms)." The name of the Book which He gave him is the Zabur. Qatada said: 'We were told that it was a supplication that Allah taught David, as well as praise and glorification; there is no lawful nor unlawful in it, nor are there any obligatory duties or legal limits.'
