in that the messengers have conveyed [the message] to their people. "And hold fast to Allah," meaning: to the religion of Allah. "He is your Mawla" (Protector), meaning your Guardian. "And excellent is the Protector, and excellent is the Helper," as He promised them victory over their enemies among the polytheists.
بِأَن الرُّسُل قد بلغت قَومهَا. ﴿واعتصموا بِاللَّه﴾ أَيْ: بِدِينِ اللَّهِ ﴿هُوَ مَوْلاكُمْ﴾ وَلِيكُم ﴿فَنعم الْمولى﴾ الْوَلِيّ ﴿وَنعم النصير﴾ وَعَدَهُمُ النَّصْرَ عَلَى أَعْدَائِهِمْ مِنَ الْمُشْركين.
