"And indeed We created man from a quintessence (sulalah) of clay." Allah created Adam from clay, "then He made his offspring from a quintessence of the extract of a despised fluid," meaning: the sperm-drop (nutfa).
﴿وَلَقَدْ خَلَقْنَا الإِنْسَانَ مِنْ سُلالَةٍ من طين﴾ خَلَقَ اللَّهُ آدَمَ مِنْ طِينٍ (ثُمَّ جَعَلَ نَسْلَهُ بَعْدُ مِنْ سُلَالَةٍ مِنْ مَاءٍ مَهِينٍ؛ يَعْنِي: النُّطْفَة)
