Translation · EN

"Far, far is that which you are promised," meaning that resurrection has become remote in the minds of the people.

Muhammad said: It is from the speech of the Arabs: "Hayhata lima qulta" (Far, far is what you have said); they mean: let your words be far off. It is also said: "Ayhata," with the meaning of "Hayhata."

﴿هَيْهَات هَيْهَات لما توعدون﴾ تَبَاعَدَ الْبَعْثُ فِي أَنْفُسِ الْقَوْمِ.

قَالَ مُحَمَّد: من كَلَام الْعَرَب: هَيْهَاتَ لِمَا قُلْتَ؛ يَعْنُونَ: بُعْدًا لِقَوْلِكَ، وَيُقَالُ: أَيْهَاتَ؛ بِمَعْنَى: هَيْهَاتَ.
