His saying: "O messengers, eat from the good things" [meaning: the lawful from the provision] "and do righteousness"—the verse.
Muhammad said: He addressed [the Prophet with this, following the custom of the Arabs in addressing the single individual].
قَوْله: ﴿يَا أَيهَا الرُّسُل كلوا من الطَّيِّبَات﴾ [يَعْنِي: الْحَلَالَ مِنَ الرِّزْقِ] ﴿وَاعْمَلُوا صَالحا﴾ الْآيَةُ.
قَالَ مُحَمَّدٌ: خَاطَبَ [بَهَذَا النَّبِيَّ، عَلَى مَذْهَبِ الْعَرَبِ فِي مُخَاطَبَةِ الْوَاحِدِ
