"Nay, they said the like of what the ancients said." Then He informed us of that statement, and said: "They said: When we have died and become dust and bones, shall we be resurrected?" until His saying: "Legends of the ancients," meaning: the lies and falsehoods of the ancients.
﴿بَلْ قَالُوا مِثْلَ مَا قَالَ الْأَولونَ﴾ ثُمَّ أَخْبَرَ بِذَلِكَ الْقَوْلِ؛ فَقَالَ ﴿قَالُوا أَئِذَا مِتْنَا وَكُنَّا تُرَابًا﴾ إِلَى قَوْله: ﴿أساطير الْأَوَّلين﴾ أَي: كذب الْأَوَّلين وباطلهم؛
