He said: Al-Kisa'i used to narrate from the Arabs that it is said to a man, "Who is the lord (owner) of this house?" and he replies, "To so-and-so [li-fulan];" meaning: it belongs to so-and-so [hiya li-fulan].
قَالَ: وَكَانَ الْكِسَائِيُّ يُحْكَى عَنِ الْعَرَبِ أَنَّهُ يُقَالُ لِلرَّجُلِ: مَنْ رَبُّ هَذِهِ الدَّارِ؟ فَيَقُولُ: لِفُلَانٍ؛ بِمَعْنَى: هِيَ لفُلَان.
