[Do you not see that Allah drives along] meaning: He initiates [clouds, then He brings them together] meaning: He gathers one part to another, [then He makes them into a heap] one upon another, [and you see the rain] meaning: the rain [emerging from within them] from within the clouds, [and He sends down from the sky, from mountains within it, of hail] He sends down from those mountains which are of hail, [striking with it whom He wills] destroying the crops, [and averting it from whom He wills]. He averts that hail, [the flash of its lightning almost] meaning: the light of its lightning.
Surah An-Nur (from verse 44 to verse 53).
﴿أَلَمْ تَرَ أَنَّ اللَّهَ يُزْجِي﴾ أَيْ: يُنْشِئُ ﴿سَحَابًا ثُمَّ يُؤَلِّفُ بَينه﴾ أَيْ: يَجْمَعُ بَعْضَهُ إِلَى بَعْضٍ ﴿ثمَّ يَجعله ركاما﴾ بَعْضُهُ عَلَى بَعْضٍ ﴿فَتَرَى الْوَدْقَ﴾ يَعْنِي: الْمَطَرَ ﴿يَخْرُجُ مِنْ خِلالِهِ﴾ مِنْ خِلَالِ السَّحَابِ ﴿وَيُنَزِّلُ مِنَ السَّمَاءِ مِنْ جِبَالٍ فِيهَا مِنْ برد﴾ يُنَزِّلُ مِنْ تِلْكَ الْجِبَالِ الَّتِي هِيَ مِنْ بَرَدٍ ﴿فَيُصِيبُ بِهِ من يَشَاء﴾ فَيهْلك الزَّرْع ﴿ويصرفه عَمَّن يَشَاء﴾. يَصْرِفُ ذَلِكَ الْبَرَدُ ﴿يَكَادُ سَنَا برقه﴾ أَي: ضوء برقه.
