Tafsir al-Qur'an al-'Aziz by Ibn Abi Zamanin
Volume 3 · Page 86263

Translation · EN

"Do not make the calling of the Messenger among yourselves like the calling of one another by each other." Mujahid said: He commanded them to call him, "O Messenger of Allah," with gentleness and humility, and not to say, "O Muhammad." "Allah already knows those who slip away from you, concealing themselves [by others]," meaning: the hypocrites, as some of them hide behind others to conceal themselves from the Prophet until they depart.

Muhammad said: "Al-Liwadh" is a verbal noun: "Lawadhtu" (a reciprocal action between two parties). If it were the verbal noun for "ladhtu" (to take refuge), it would have been "liyadhan."
