Tafsir al-Qur'an al-'Aziz by Ibn Abi Zamanin
Volume 3 · Page 866Al-Furqan (The Criterion)

Translation · EN

His saying: "Tabaraka (Blessed is He)" [is derived from] al-barakah (blessing).

Muhammad said: The meaning of al-barakah according to the linguists is abundance in everything that possesses goodness. "The One who sent down the Furqan (Criterion)" means: the Quran, and its Furqan refers to its lawful and unlawful matters.

Muhammad said: It is also said that it was named Furqan because it distinguishes between truth and falsehood, and this is the meaning of what Yahya said. "Upon His servant" means: Muhammad, peace be upon him. "That he may be to the worlds" means: mankind and the jinn "a warner," warning them of the punishment of Allah in this world and the Hereafter if they do not believe.
