Tafsir al-Qur'an al-'Aziz by Ibn Abi Zamanin
Volume 3 · Page 8728

Translation · EN

{Or that a treasure be cast to him}—for he is poor—{or that he have a garden to eat from}.

Muhammad says: The interpretation of this interrogative and the accusative case (nasb) of "so he would be" (fa-yakuna) is based on it being the answer to the negation with the 'fa'. It is not permitted to use the accusative case in {or that he have} (aw takuna lahu), because it is a conjunction following the interrogative. The meaning is: Why was there not an angel sent down to him, or a treasure cast to him, or that he have a garden?
