Tafsir al-Qur'an al-'Aziz by Ibn Abi Zamanin
Volume 3 · Page 87713

Translation · EN

"[And when they are cast into a narrow place therein, bound together]", Qatada's interpretation: It was mentioned to us that Abdullah ibn Amr used to say: "Hell indeed constricts upon the disbeliever, like the constriction of the spear-head socket upon the spear." The meaning of (muqarranin) is: He is bound together with his devil, who used to invite him to misguidance, in a single chain; each of them curses the other, and each of them disavows the other. "[They will call out there for destruction]", meaning: woe and ruin.

Muhammad said: (Thuburan) is in the accusative case as a verbal noun (masdar); as if they said: "We are destroyed, a destruction (thabarna thuburan)."
