Translation · EN

For your nation will not be able to bear that, for I have tested the Children of Israel and experienced them.' So I returned to my Lord and said: 'O my Lord, reduce it for my nation, for my nation cannot bear that.' So He reduced five from me. He said: 'Then I returned to Moses, who said to me: "What did your Lord enjoin upon you?" I said: "He reduced five from me." He said: "Return to your Lord and ask Him for a reduction, for your nation will not be able to bear that." He said: 'So I returned to my Lord and He reduced five from me.' He said: 'I continued to go back and forth between my Lord and Moses until He said: "O Muhammad, there is no changing; indeed, the Word is not changed with Me; they are five prayers every day and night; for every prayer there are ten [rewards], so that is fifty prayers." He said: 'Then I returned to Moses and informed him, and he said: "Return to your Lord and ask Him for a reduction." I said: "I have asked Him until I felt ashamed."
