Tafsir al-Qur'an al-'Aziz by Ibn Abi Zamanin
Volume 3 · Page 91547

Translation · EN

"And it is He who made the night for you as a garment," meaning: a place of rest in which the creation finds tranquility, "and sleep for rest," it brings the sleeper to a state of stillness so that he lacks consciousness.

Muhammad said: The root of 'sabt' is rest. "And He made the day for rising," in which the creation is spread out for their livelihoods and their needs.
