“That We may give life thereby to a dead land,” meaning: the arid land that has no vegetation in it.
Muhammad said: “maytan” (dead) and the term “balda” (land) is feminine, because the meaning of “balad” and “balda” is the same. “And give it as drink to those whom We have created—livestock and many humans.”
Muhammad said: “anasi” (humans) is the plural of “insi” (human), like “kursi” (chair/stool) and “karasi” (chairs/stools).
Surat al-Furqan (from verse 50 to verse 55).
﴿لنحيي بِهِ بَلْدَة مَيتا﴾ يَعْنِي: الْيَابِسَ الَّتُي لَا نَبَاتَ فِيهَا.
قَالَ مُحَمَّد: (مَيتا) وَلَفْظُ (الْبَلْدَةِ) مُؤَنَّثٌ؛ لِأَنَّ مَعْنَى الْبَلَدِ وَالْبَلْدَةِ وَاحِدٌ. ﴿وَنُسْقِيَهُ مِمَّا خلقنَا أنعاما وأناسي كثيرا﴾
قَالَ مُحَمَّد: (أناسي) جَمْعُ إِنْسِيٍّ؛ مِثْلُ: كُرْسِيٍّ وَكَرَاسِيَّ.
