"And they who pass the night before their Lord, prostrating and standing [in prayer]," meaning: they pray, while you, O polytheists, do not pray.
Yahya said: It has reached me that whoever prays two rak'ahs during the night is among those who pass the night before their Lord, prostrating and standing [in prayer].
﴿وَالَّذِينَ يَبِيتُونَ لِرَبِّهِمْ سُجَّدًا وَقِيَامًا﴾ يَعْنِي: يُصَلُّونَ، وَأَنْتُمْ أَيُّهَا الْمُشْرِكُونَ لَا تُصَلُّونَ.
قَالَ يَحْيَى: بَلَغَنِي أَنَّهُ مَنْ صَلَّى مِنَ اللَّيْلِ رَكْعَتَيْنِ، فَهُوَ مِنَ الَّذِينَ يَبِيتُونَ لرَبهم سجدا وقياما
