Translation · EN

"Indeed, its punishment is ever an affliction [gharama]," meaning: an inseparable torment.

Muhammad said: Al-gharama in the language signifies the most severe torment, and from this is their saying: 'So-and-so is mughram [infatuated/consumed] with women,' meaning: he is ruined by them.

﴿إِن عَذَابهَا كَانَ غراما﴾ أَيْ: لِزَامًا.

قَالَ مُحَمَّدٌ: الْغَرَامُ فِي اللُّغَةِ: أَشَدُّ الْعَذَابِ، وَمِنْهُ قَوْلُهُمْ: فُلَانٌ مُغْرَمٌ بِالنِّسَاءِ؛ أَيْ: مهلك بِهن.
