"Say, what would my Lord care for you," meaning: what would He do with you, "if not for your supplication," meaning: if not for your monotheism. "For you have denied," referring to the polytheists, "so it is going to be inseparable," meaning: it will be a seizure of punishment. He promises them this on the Day of Badr; thus, Allah bound them on the Day of Badr to the punishment for their disbelief and their denial, so He punished them by the sword.
﴿قل مَا يعبؤا بكم﴾ مَا يَفْعَلُ بِكُمْ ﴿رَبِّي لَوْلا دعاؤكم﴾ لَوْلَا توحيدكم ﴿فقد كَذبْتُمْ﴾ يَعْنِي: الْمُشْرِكِينَ ﴿فَسَوْفَ يَكُونُ لِزَامًا﴾ أَيْ: أَخْذًا بِالْعَذَابِ يَعِدُهُمْ يَوْمَ بَدْرٍ؛ فَأَلْزَمَهُمُ اللَّهُ يَوْمَ بَدْرٍ عُقُوبَةَ كُفْرِهِمْ وَتَكْذِيبِهِمْ فَعَذَّبَهُمْ بِالسَّيْفِ.
