"And say, 'My Lord, cause me to enter an entry of truth,'" meaning: Medina when he migrated to it. Allah commanded him with this supplication. "'And cause me to exit an exit of truth,'" meaning: to the battle against the people of Badr. Allah had already informed him that he would fight the polytheists at Badr and grant him victory over them.
Muhammad said: Whoever recites "mudkhal" with a damma on the mim, it is a verbal noun (masdar) of "adkhal-tuhu mudkhalan" (I caused him to enter an entry). And whoever recites "madkhal" with a fatha on the mim, it is based on "adkhal-tuhu fadakhala madkhala sidqin" (I caused him to enter, so he entered an entry of truth). The explanation of "mukhraj" is likewise. "'And grant me from Yourself a supporting authority,'" meaning: a clear proof; according to the tafsir of Mujahid.
Surat al-Isra from (verse 81 to verse 88).
