"Say, 'Each works according to his manner,'" Qatada said: meaning, according to his disposition; therefore, the believer is strengthened in his faith, and the disbeliever in his disbelief.
﴿قُلْ كُلٌّ يَعْمَلُ عَلَى شَاكِلَتِهِ﴾ قَالَ قَتَادَةُ: يَعْنِي: عَلَى نَاحِيَتِهِ؛ لِذَا يَقْوَى الْمُؤْمِنُ عَلَى إِيمَانِهِ، وَالْكَافِر على كفره.
