His saying: {Or do their dreams command them to do this?}, meaning: with [this] rejection. That is, they do not have dreams. {Or are they a transgressing people?}, meaning: rather, they are a transgressing people. He says: That transgression—which is polytheism—commands them to do this.
قَوْله: ﴿أَمْ تَأْمُرُهُمْ أَحْلامُهُمْ بِهَذَا﴾ بالتكذيب، أَي: لَيست لَهُم أحلامٌ ﴿أم هم قوم طاغون﴾ أَي: بل هُمْ قومٌ طاغون يَقُول: إِن الطغيانَ - وَهُوَ الشّرك - يَأْمُرهُم بِهَذَا
