"[That He may recompense those who did evil] i.e., those who associated others with Allah [for what they did] He shall recompense them with the Fire, [and reward those who did good] i.e., those who believed [with the best] meaning Paradise."
﴿لِيَجْزِيَ الَّذِينَ أَسَاءُوا﴾ أشركوا ﴿بِمَا عمِلُوا﴾ يجزيهم النَّار ﴿وَيَجْزِيَ الَّذِينَ أَحْسَنُوا﴾ آمنُوا ﴿بِالْحُسْنَى﴾ يَعْنِي الْجنَّة.
