Translation · EN

"And inform them that the water is to be shared between them," and this is after the she-camel came to them. "Each drinking turn is attended [by those who are due to drink]," meaning the she-camel drinks the water one day, and they drink it on another.

Muhammad said: The meaning of "attended" is that the people attend for their drinking turn on one day, and the she-camel attends for it on another.

﴿وَنَبِّئْهُمْ أَنَّ الْمَاءَ قِسْمَةٌ بَيْنَهُمْ﴾ وَهَذَا بعد مَا جَاءَتْهُم النَّاقة ﴿كل شرب محتضر﴾ تشرب النَّاقة المَاء يَوْمًا ويشربونه يَوْمًا.

قَالَ محمدٌ: معنى ﴿مُحْتَضَرٌ﴾ يحضر القومُ الشِّرْبَ يَوْمًا، وتحضره النَّاقة يَوْمًا.
