"Dhawata afnan" (having spreading branches): branches; meaning: the shade of trees, according to the Tafsir of al-Hasan.
Muhammad said: The singular of it is fannan.
﴿ذواتا أفنان﴾ أَغْصَان؛ يَعْنِي: ظلال الشّجر؛ فِي تَفْسِير الْحسن.
قَالَ محمدٌ: وَاحِدهَا فنن.
