Yahya narrated from a companion of his, from Muhammad ibn 'Amr, from Sa'id ibn Yasar, from Abu Hurayrah, who said: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: "The angels come to the dying person. If he is a righteous man, they say: 'Depart, O good soul, that was in a good body! Depart praised, and receive glad tidings of a spirit and a sweet scent, and a Lord who is not angry.' It is said to it thus until it departs. It is then ascended with to the sky, and permission is requested for it. It is said: 'Who is this?' They say: 'So-and-so.' It is said: 'Welcome to the good soul that was in a good body. Enter praised, and receive glad tidings of a spirit and a sweet scent, and a Lord who is not angry.' It is said to it thus until it arrives at the heaven where Allah, Blessed and Exalted, is. And if he is a man of evil, they say: 'Depart, O evil soul, that was in an evil body! Depart blameworthy, and receive glad tidings of boiling water and..."
