"We have already sent Our messengers with clear evidence and sent down with them the Scripture and the balance," meaning: and We established the balance, "that the people may maintain [their affairs] in justice," meaning: with fairness. "And We sent down iron," meaning: and We created (folio 354) iron, which Allah brought forth from the earth, "wherein is great military might," meaning: what is made from it in terms of weaponry, "and benefits for the people," meaning: what they benefit from regarding iron in their livelihoods, "and so that Allah may know who will support Him and His messengers unseen." The unseen is the Resurrection, the Reckoning, Paradise, and Hell; and only he who believes in this supports Allah and His messengers, and this is the knowledge of deeds. "Indeed, Allah is Powerful, Exalted in Might," in His retribution.
Interpretation of Surat al-Hadid, from verse 26 to verse 29.
﴿لَقَدْ أَرْسَلْنَا رُسُلَنَا بِالْبَيِّنَاتِ وَأَنْزَلْنَا مَعَهم الْكتاب وَالْمِيزَان﴾ أَي: وَجَعَلنَا الْمِيزَان ﴿بِالْقِسْطِ﴾ أَي: بِالْعَدْلِ ﴿وأنزلنا الْحَدِيد﴾ أَي: وَجَعَلنَا (ل ٣٥٤) الْحَدِيد، أخرجه اللَّه من الأَرْض ﴿فِيهِ بَأْس شَدِيد﴾ يَعْنِي: مَا يصنع مِنْهُ من السِّلَاح. ﴿وَمَنَافع للنَّاس﴾ يَعْنِي: مَا يَنْتَفِعُونَ بِهِ من الْحَدِيد فِي مَعَايشهمْ ﴿وَلِيَعْلَمَ اللَّهُ من ينصره وَرُسُله بِالْغَيْبِ﴾ والغيب: الْبَعْث والحساب وَالْجنَّة وَالنَّار، وَإِنَّمَا ينصر اللَّه ورسولَه من يُؤمن بِهَذَا، وَهَذَا علم الفعَال ﴿إِن الله قوي عَزِيز﴾ فِي نقمته.
