[Like those before them], those before the killing of the Qurayzah. [Recently, they tasted the evil result of their affair], meaning: the Banu al-Nadir. There were two years between the expulsion of the Banu al-Nadir and the killing of the Qurayzah. Al-wabal (the evil result) is the punishment. The meaning is: they tasted the recompense for their sin.
﴿كَمَثَلِ الَّذِينَ مِن قَبْلِهِمْ﴾ من قبل قتل قُرَيْظَة. ﴿قَرِيبًا ذَاقُوا وَبَالَ أَمْرِهِمْ﴾ يَعْنِي: النَّضِير، كَانَ بَين إجلاء النَّضِير وَقتل قُرَيْظَة سنتَانِ، والوبال: الْعقُوبَة، الْمَعْنى: ذاقوا جَزَاء ذنبهم.
