His saying: "And shall not display a falsehood which they have forged between their hands and their feet," meaning: that one of them should attribute to her husband a child that is not his. قَوْله: ﴿وَلا يَأْتِينَ بِبُهْتَانٍ يَفْتَرِينَهُ بَين أَيْدِيهنَّ وَأَرْجُلهنَّ﴾ يَعْنِي: أَن تلْحق إِحْدَاهُنَّ بزوجها ولدا لَيْسَ لَهُ ﴿وَلا يَعْصِينَكَ فِي مَعْرُوف﴾ قَالَ الْحسن: نهاهُنّ عَن النِّياحة، وَأَن يحادثن الرِّجَال.
