"And others among them who have not yet joined them." Mujahid's interpretation: Meaning their brothers among the non-Arabs; that is, He sent among the unlettered a Messenger from among them, and among others who have not yet joined them.
﴿وَآخَرِينَ مِنْهُمْ لَمَّا يَلْحَقُوا بِهِمْ﴾ تَفْسِير مُجَاهِد: يَعْنِي: إخْوَانهمْ من الْعَجم، أَي بعث فِي الْأُمِّيين رَسُولا مِنْهُم وَفِي آخَرين مِنْهُم لما يلْحقُوا بهم بعد.
