Translation · EN

"Fas'aw ila dhikr Allah" (Hasten to the remembrance of Allah) means: the Friday prayer. It is in the codex of Ibn Mas'ud: "Famdu ila dhikr Allah" (Proceed to the remembrance of Allah).

"Wadharu al-bay'" (And leave trade). The interpretation of Ibn Abbas: When the muezzin gives the call to prayer on Friday, trade is forbidden.

﴿فَاسْعَوْا إِلَى ذكر الله﴾ يَعْنِي: صَلَاة الْجُمُعَة، وَهِي فِي حرف ابْن مَسْعُود (فامضوا إِلَى ذكر الله).

﴿وذروا البيع﴾ تَفْسِير ابْن عَبَّاس: إِذا أذَّن الْمُؤَذّن يَوْم الْجُمُعَة حرم البيع.
