Yahya said: It reached us that they were one hundred and twenty thousand. Upon that, he knew that he had been tested, so he departed. He came upon a herd of sheep and said to the shepherd, 'Give me some milk to drink.' The shepherd replied, 'There is no sheep here that has milk.' So he took one of the sheep and wiped his hand over its udder, and it gave milk, which he then drank. The shepherd said to him, 'Who are you, servant of Allah?' He replied, 'I am Yunus.' The shepherd went to his people and brought them the good news about him, so they took him and accompanied him to the place where the sheep were, but they did not find Yunus. They said, 'We had stipulated that if anyone lies, we shall cut out his tongue.' Then the sheep spoke by the permission of Allah and said, 'He did indeed drink from my milk.' A tree under which he had sought shade also said, 'He did indeed seek shade in my shadow.' They searched for him and found him, so he returned to them and remained among them until Allah took his soul. They were in a city called Nineveh, in the land of Mosul, and it is on the Tigris.
