[Except for the chosen servants of Allah]—he means: the monotheists; he means: the Companions of the Prophet (ﷺ) and those who believed like them. "Then, indeed, you and that which you worship" (the verse). He says: "Then, indeed, you"—meaning: the polytheists—"and that which you worship"—meaning: that which they worshipped [he means: then, indeed, you and your deities which you worship other than Allah].
﴿فَإِنَّكُمْ وَمَا تَعْبُدُونَ﴾ ﴿ل ٢٩١﴾ الْآيَة، يَقُول: ﴿فَإِنَّكُم﴾ يَعْنِي: الْمُشْركين ﴿وَمَا تَعْبدُونَ﴾ يَعْنِي: مَا عبدُوا [يُرِيد: فَإِنَّكُم وآلهتكم الَّتِي تَعْبدُونَ من دون الله]
