"If we had a Reminder from the ancients," [meaning: a Quran like that of Abraham and Ishmael], that is: a book like the book of Moses and Jesus.
﴿لَوْ أَنَّ عِنْدَنَا ذِكْرًا مِنَ الْأَوَّلين﴾ [يُرِيد: قُرْآنًا من لدن إِبْرَاهِيم وَإِسْمَاعِيل] أَي: كتابا مثل كتاب مُوسَى وَعِيسَى
