"Or do they have the treasures of the mercy of your Lord?" Al-Suddi said: Meaning, the keys to prophethood, so that they might bestow prophethood upon whom they wish and withhold it from whom they wish; meaning: that is not with them.
﴿أَمْ أعِندَهُمْ خَزَائِنُ رَحْمَةِ رَبِّكَ﴾ قَالَ السُّدي: يَعْنِي: مفاتح النُّبُوَّة , فيعطوا النُّبُوَّة من شَاءُوا , ويمنعوا من شَاءُوا؛ أَي: لَيْسَ ذَلكَ عِنْدهم.
