Translation · EN

"And these do not await," he means: the disbelievers of the latter part of this nation, "except one blast," he means: the first blast by which their destruction will occur, "for which there is no delay." Al-Kalbi said: He means there is no respite for it; that is: no postponement.

Muhammad said: It is recited (fuwaq) with the letter fa being both damma-vocalized and fatha-vocalized, and it refers to the interval between the two milkings of a she-camel.

﴿وَمَا ينظر هَؤُلَاءِ﴾ يَعْنِي: كفار آخر هَذِه الْأمة ﴿إِلَّا صَيْحَة وَاحِدَة﴾ يَعْنِي: النفخة الأولى بهَا يكون هلاكهم ﴿مَا لَهَا مِنْ فَوَاقٍ﴾ قَالَ الْكَلْبِيّ: يَعْنِي مَا لَهَا من نظرة؛ أَي: من تَأْخِير.

قَالَ محمدٌ: تُقرأ (فُواق) بِضَم الْفَاء وَفتحهَا وَهُوَ مَا بَين حلبتي النَّاقة ,
