Tafsir al-Qur'an al-'Aziz by Ibn Abi Zamanin
Volume 4 · Page 23416

Translation · EN

"And they say: Our Lord, hasten for us our qitt (share/record) before the Day of Judgment." Al-Kalbi’s interpretation: They said that when Allah mentioned in His Book: "Whoever is given his record in his right hand, and whoever is given his record in his left hand." The qitt is the written record; meaning: hasten for us our record which Muhammad speaks of, so that we may know whether we shall take our records with our right hands or our left hands—out of denial and mockery.

Muhammad said: The plural of qitt is qutut.

Tafsir of verses 17 through 20 of Surah Sad.
