"And no intercession benefits before Him" - i.e., before Allah - "except for him whom He permits." Meaning: The intercessors shall not intercede except for the believers.
"Until, when fear is removed from their hearts" - the verse. Yahya said: The inhabitants of the heavens did not hear the revelation during the period between Jesus and Muhammad. When Allah sent Gabriel with the revelation to Muhammad, the inhabitants of the heavens heard the sound of the revelation like the dragging of chains over rocks - or the smooth stone - so the inhabitants of the heavens were struck with fear, fearing that the Hour had begun. When the revelation was completed and Gabriel descended, whenever he passed by the inhabitants of a heaven, fear was removed from their hearts - meaning: it was cleared away from them. Then they asked one another - the inhabitants of each heaven would ask those above them, once their hearts were cleared of fear: "What did your Lord say?" They would reply: "The truth," meaning: it is the truth - referring to the revelation.
Muhammad said: It has also been said that the interpretation of "fear is removed from their hearts" is that Allah removed the fear from their hearts.
