Translation · EN

"Is one who is devoutly obedient," meaning: praying, "in the hours of the night," meaning: the hours of the night, "prostrating and standing, fearing the Hereafter," meaning: fearing its punishment, "and hoping for the mercy of his Lord," meaning: Paradise. It is saying: "Is one who is devoutly obedient," to the end of the verse, like the one who attributed to Allah equals and worshipped the idols instead of Me? He is not like him.

Muhammad said: The root of al-qunut (devout obedience) is obedience. Nafi' recited "amman" with the takhfif (lightening of the shaddah).

"Say, are those who know equal to those who do not know?" meaning: Is this believer, who knows that he will meet his Lord, equal to this polytheist, who attributed to Allah...
