"And those who avoid the Taghut (i.e., the devils) lest they worship them" means that those who worship idols are only worshipping the devils, because it is they who invited them to worship them.
﴿وَالَّذين اجتنبوا الطاغوت﴾ (يَعْنِي: الشَّيَاطِين) ﴿أَن يعبدوها﴾ وَذَلِكَ أَن الَّذين يعْبدُونَ الْأَوْثَان إِنَّمَا يعْبدُونَ الشَّيَاطِين؛ لأَنهم هُمْ دعوهم إِلَى عبادتها
