Volume 4 · Page 33020

Translation · EN

"[They shall have] chambers, above them chambers built" (Az-Zumar: 20).

Muhammad said: It has been said that the meaning is: they shall have exalted dwellings in Paradise, and above them are dwellings even more exalted than them, "[as] the promise of Allah"—which He promised the believers—meaning, Paradise.

Muhammad said: The recitation is [wa'ada Allahu] (Allah promised) in the accusative case (nasb), meaning: Allah promised them a promise.

قَالَ محمدٌ: الْقِرَاءَة ﴿وَعَدَ اللَّهَ﴾ بِالنّصب بِمَعْنى وعدهم اللَّه وَعدا.
