(A Quran in Arabic, free from any crookedness) meaning: there is [no crookedness in it], (that they may have Taqwa) so that they may fear Allah.
Muhammad said: (Arabic) is in the accusative case as a state (hal). The meaning is: We have set forth for people in this Quran, in the state of its Arabic language and its clarity, and he mentioned (a Quran) as an emphatic confirmation.
﴿قُرْآنًا عَرَبِيًّا غَيْرَ ذِي عِوَجٍ﴾ أَي: لَيْسَ [فِيهِ عوج] ﴿لَعَلَّهُمْ يَتَّقُونَ﴾ لكَي يتقوا.
قَالَ محمدٌ: (عَرَبِيًّا) منصوبٌ عَلَى الْحَال , الْمَعْنى: ضربنا للنَّاس فِي هَذَا الْقُرْآن فِي حَال عربيته وَبَيَانه , وَذكر (قُرْآنًا) توكيدا.
