(Allah sets forth an example: a man) meaning: the polytheist (who has partners in disagreement) meaning: idols; they are disparate.
(And a man belonging wholly to one man) meaning: the believer who worships Allah alone (Are they equal in example?) meaning: they are not equal.
Muhammad said: (In disagreement) means: differing and not in agreement.
It is said of one who is difficult: "The man is sharis" (morose/difficult). Whoever recites (and a man salaman) the meaning is: possessing peace, and it is a verbal noun used as an adjective, and the root of the word comes from submission (istislam).
﴿ضرب الله مثلا رجلا﴾ يَعْنِي: الْمُشرك ﴿فِيهِ شُرَكَاءُ مُتَشَاكِسُونَ﴾ يَعْنِي: أوثانًا؛ هُمْ شَتَّى.
﴿وَرَجُلا سلما لرجل﴾ يَعْنِي: الْمُؤمن يعبد اللَّه وَحده ﴿هَل يستويان مثلا﴾ أَيْ: أَنَّهُمَا لَا يَسْتَوِيَانِ.
قَالَ مُحَمَّد: ﴿متشاكسون﴾ مَعْنَاهُ: مُخْتَلفُونَ لَا يتفقون.
وَيُقَال للعسير: شَكِس الرجل شَكْسًا , وَمن قَرَأَ (ورجلا سلما) فَالْمَعْنى: ذَا سلمٍ وَهُوَ مصدر وُصِفَ بِهِ , وأصلُ الْكَلِمَة من الاستسلام.
