[Those who carry the Throne and those around it]—meaning: and those around the Throne—[and they ask forgiveness for those who have believed]—[they say: Our Lord, You have encompassed everything]—meaning: You have filled everything—[in mercy and knowledge, so forgive those who have repented] from polytheism [and have followed Your way]—meaning: Islam.
﴿الَّذِينَ يَحْمِلُونَ الْعَرْشَ وَمَنْ حَوْلَهُ﴾ أَي: وَمن حول الْعَرْش ﴿وَيَسْتَغْفِرُونَ لِلَّذِينَ آمَنُوا﴾ ﴿يَقُولُونَ﴾ (رَبَّنَا وَسِعْتَ كُلَّ شَيْءٍ﴾ أَي: مَلَأت كل شيءٍ ﴿رَّحْمَةً وَعِلْمًا فَاغْفِرْ لِلَّذِينَ تَابُوا﴾ من الشّرك ﴿وَاتَّبَعُوا سَبِيلَكَ﴾ يَعْنِي: الْإِسْلَام.
