Tafsir al-Qur'an al-'Aziz by Ibn Abi Zamanin
Volume 4 · Page 42226

Translation · EN

"And Pharaoh said, Let me kill Moses," he said this to his companions; meaning: let me be and do not stand between me and him so that I may kill him, for he did not fear that he would be prevented from doing so. "And let him call upon his Lord," meaning: let him seek the aid of his Lord; implying that his Lord would not avail him of anything. "Indeed, I fear that he will change your religion." Al-Hasan said: They were idolaters. "Or that he will cause corruption to appear in the land," meaning: the land of Egypt.
