"And a believing man from the family of Pharaoh said," from the people of Pharaoh, "who conceals his faith." Al-Hasan said: He was a believer before Moses came to them.
"And he has certainly brought you clear proofs from your Lord," meaning: the signs with which Moses came to them.
"[If he should be untruthful,] some of what he promises you will afflict you." Moses used to promise them the punishment of Allah in this world and the Hereafter if they did not believe. The believer from the family of Pharaoh knew that Moses was upon the truth.
Tafsir of Surah Ghafir from verse 29 to verse 33.
﴿وَقَالَ رَجُلٌ مُؤْمِنٌ مِنْ آلِ فِرْعَوْن﴾ من قوم فِرْعَوْن ﴿يَكْتُمُ إِيمَانَهُ﴾ قَالَ الْحَسَن: قد كَانَ مُؤمنا قبل أَن يَأْتِيهم مُوسَى.
﴿وَقَدْ جَاءَكُم بِالْبَيِّنَاتِ من ربكُم﴾؛ يَعْنِي: الْآيَات الَّتِي جَاءَهُم بهَا مُوسَى.
﴿يُصِبْكُمْ بَعْضُ الَّذِي يَعِدُكُمْ﴾ كَانَ مُوسَى يعدهم عَذَاب اللَّه فِي الدُّنْيَا وَالآخِرَةِ إِنْ لَمْ يُؤمنُوا , وَقد كَانَ مُؤمن آل فِرْعَوْن علم أَن مُوسَى عَلَى الْحق.
