[And your Lord said, "Call upon Me, I will respond to you"] until His saying: [humbled] meaning: humiliated.
Yahya: On the authority of Abu al-Ashhab, from al-Hasan, who said: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: "The Muslim is granted one of three things regarding his supplication: either he is given what he asked for, or he is given the equivalent of it in goodness, or the equivalent of it in evil is warded off from him, as long as he does not supplicate for a sin, or the severing of family ties, or acts with haste." They said: "O Messenger of Allah, then we shall increase [our supplications]." He said: "Allah is more abundant [in granting]."
﴿وَقَالَ رَبُّكُمُ ادْعُونِي أَسْتَجِبْ لَكُمْ﴾ إِلَى قَوْله: ﴿داخرين﴾ يَعْنِي: صاغرين.
يَحْيَى: عَنْ أَبِي الأَشْهَبِ , عَنِ الْحَسَنِ قَالَ: قَالَ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ: " الْمُسْلِمُ مِنْ دُعَائِهِ عَلَى إِحْدَى ثَلاثٍ: إِمَّا أَنْ يُعْطَى مَسْأَلَتَهُ وَإِمَّا أَنْ يُعْطَى مِثْلَهَا مِنَ الْخَيْرِ , وَإِمَّا أَنْ يُصْرَفَ عَنْهُ مِثْلَهَا مِنَ الشَّرِّ مَا لَمْ يَدْعُ بِإِثْمٍ أَوْ قَطِيعَةِ رَحِمٍ أَوْ يَسْتَعْجِلُ. قَالُوا: يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ , إِذًا نُكْثِرُ. قَالَ: اللَّهُ أَكْثَرُ ".
