Tafsir al-Qur'an al-'Aziz by Ibn Abi Zamanin
Volume 4 · Page 47785

Translation · EN

Allah said: "But their faith could not benefit them when they saw Our might"—meaning Our punishment—"This is the established way of Allah which has preceded among His servants"—the polytheists—that if they denied His messengers, He would destroy them with punishment, and He does not accept their faith upon the descent of the punishment. He said: "And the disbelievers lost therein."

Muhammad said: "Sunnat Allah" (The way of Allah) is in the accusative case (mansub), based on the meaning: Allah established this way among all the nations, such that faith does not benefit them when they see the punishment.
