Tafsir al-Qur'an al-'Aziz by Ibn Abi Zamanin
Volume 4 · Page 56120

Translation · EN

"Whoever desires the harvest of the Hereafter" (Ash-Shura: 20), meaning: righteous deeds, "We shall increase for him in his harvest," which refers to the multiplication of good deeds, according to the tafsir of al-Hasan. "And whoever desires the harvest of the world, We give him thereof; and he has in the Hereafter," meaning: in Paradise, "no share." This refers to the polytheist who desires nothing but the world. His statement, "We give him thereof," means: from the world. It does not mean that everything he desires from the world is given to him, as in His saying: "Whoever desires the immediate - We hasten for him therein what We will to whom We intend" (Al-Isra: 18).
