Translation · EN

"safhan" (in disregard) means: turning away. It is said: "safah-tu 'an fulan" (I turned away from someone), meaning: I turned away from him. The origin of this is that you turn the side (safhah) of your neck toward him.

Interpretation of Surat al-Zukhruf from verse 6 to verse 10.

﴿صفحا﴾ أَي: إعْرَاضًا يُقَال: صفحت عَن فلانٍ أَي: أَعرَضت عَنهُ , وَالْأَصْل فِي ذَلِك أَنَّك توليه صفحة عُنُقك.
